ONA 2015, Los Angeles http://datadrivenjournalism.net/events/ona_2015 http://datadrivenjournalism.net/events/ona_2015#When:07:40:19Z The annual Online News Association (ONA) conference will take place in Los Angeles this year, from September 24 to 26, 2015.

Given that online journalism is steadily rising in importance for established and new news outlets, the conference is relevant to attend or to watch the proceedings from afar. The organizers expect an attendance of over 2.000.

The core is to present and discuss forms of digital reporting, naturally including data investigations and visualizations. One new element for 2015 will be „Table Talks“, a (quote) „series of open conversations you care about“ where the focus is on networking with journalists from other publications.

As of July 2015 the program for the event is still in the making, the most current version can be checked out here: http://ona15.journalists.org/2015/06/04/announcing-the-first-version-of-the-ona15-program/

If Los Angeles is too far away - you simply keep an eye on the conference and it’s talks, via the newsletter provided by ONA: http://journalists.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=71d2d33b013435ca6e1ed980e&id=53b827990a

Costs: ONA has an early bird ticket system. Shortly before the conference the attendance will cost more. Last year the conference closed registration two weeks before the actual start. But: In order to provide access for younger journalists ONA has a fellowship, sponsored by CNN. Application is possible until August 11, 2015 in some of the programs. More information here:
